Grapes

  • 100% Merlot, from Finca Vidal in Tupungato, Mendoza, at 1050 meters above sea level. Selected from a section of a 60+ year old vineyard trained in pergola system, which underwent thinning during veraison to reduce yield and increase concentration.
  • Hand-harvested in 15 kg boxes during the second week of March 2012.

Vinification

  • Fermented with a percentage of whole clusters. Aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months.
  • Total production: 1250 bottles
  • Alcohol content: 14.5%

Tasting Notes

  • Bright ruby color.
  • Intense, complex nose with aromas of spices, red fruits, cherry, and strawberry jam.
  • On the palate, ripe red fruit flavors evolve into earthier notes. Structured tannins and balanced acidity provide freshness that lingers through a long and elegant finish.

Recommendations

  • Recommended serving temperature: 14–18°C (58–65°F)
  • Decant at least one hour before serving.
  • We recommend using a two-prong cork puller.
