Technical Sheet – Tequendama 2018

Material

  • Merlot 100% from Finca Vidal in Tupungato, Mendoza, at 1050 meters above sea level.
  • Selected grapes from a 60-year-old vine trellis; thinning was done to reduce yield and increase concentration.
  • Hand harvested in 15 kg boxes in the fourth week of March 2018.
  • Hot spring and summer temperatures are reflected in the optimal ripening of the bunches, contributing to the wine’s character and robustness.

Vinification

  • Fermented with 15% whole clusters.
  • Aged in second and third-use French oak barrels for 6 months.
  • Total production: 600 bottles. Alcohol content: 14%.

Tasting Notes

  • Brilliant ruby color.
  • Intense, complex nose with aromas of ripe fruits. The whole clusters add spicy aromas.
  • On the palate, flavors of spices and fresh red and black fruits stand out. Very good acidity and balanced tannins.

Suggestions

  • Serve at a temperature of 14-18°C (58-65°F).
  • Decant at least one hour before serving.
